Fly Fishing and Rainbow Trout

A rehearsal dinner with a fly fishing theme and family style dining? Yes, please. We went casual, yet classic for the original artwork behind the menus, invites, and table cards for this special evening.

A Couples Shower

IMG_3248.jpgJosh and Alyssa are part of the family, and we are thrilled about their upcoming October wedding in Virginia. So thrilled, we decided to host a party in their honor in September to hold us over.

For this invite, we chose a classic, elegant look, with line drawings printed in gold foil.

GarciaBabyShower2When my friend, Lauren, contacted me looking for baby shower invites for a bee themed party, I was pretty excited. Honeybees, honeycombs, and honey jars flew through my mind as I spoke with Lauren about what she was looking for.

We settled on a simple design that emphasized heart shaped bee-lines and some sweet honey to help welcome Danielle’s new little one with love.

Coordinates.jpgDesigning home decor for yourself is fun. Designing home decor that other people want in their own home is even better. That’s what happened with this conversation piece.

With a husband that is in the Navy, our home decor has taken on a very nautical feel. Though we’ll move every few years because of Tommy’s career, this framed piece is a good reminder of where our story all began.

Visit my listing on Etsy or Contact Me if you could see this piece in your home.

WeddingBlushandpinkApril 23rd, 2016 was the best day of my life. It’s the day I said “I do” to my husband and gathered 200 of the most important people to us in one location.

It’s so rewarding to see months and months of planning and attention to detail come to fruition and watch your overall dream and vision become a reality. Not to mention, vowing to spend the rest of eternity with your best friend surrounded by your closest friends and family is pretty neat.

Mushy feelings aside, dreaming up the vision and overall ambiance for mine and Tommy’s garden wedding began this entire adventure of starting Creative Freedom Design. Planning a wedding is exciting and stressful and scary and fun and intimidating and mind-numbing, all at once. But planning a wedding is also the absolute coolest because it is setting the vibe of the day that marks the start of rest of your life as a married couple.

STD2The vibe of our entire wedding began with a watercolor painting of garden roses, which became the background of our Invitation, and then our RSVP’s, and then our Welcome Sign, and then laid the foundation for the look and feel for the rest of the night.  Designing the materials that helped make our garden wedding feel like a fairy tale was a pretty rewarding experience, and seeing those designs around our venue the night of made our special day all the more special.
